A man slipped past security at the Willis Tower May 16 and made his way to the 102nd floor

A resident from a psychiatric facility was arrested May 16 after breaching security at the Willis Tower.

The 42-year-old man slipped past security guards and got to the 102nd floor before authorities were able to arrest him, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The man allegedly followed a Willis Tower employee through a turnstile and made his way to a freight elevator. The man was in the building for 16 minutes before authorities saw him on security cameras making his way down from the 102nd floor.

Security tracked the man in the elevator and arrested him on the 32nd floor, authorities said.

The man has been charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass and released on his own recognizance.
