A West Side Austin neighborhood man is dead after attempting a backflip Sunday off a breakwater at a Near North Side beach Sunday.
Terrence Muldin, 54, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital just before 8 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Muldin was attempting a diving maneuver off a retaining wall near North Avenue Beach in the 1500 block of North Lake Shore Drive when he accidentally struck his head on the concrete, police said.
Muldin fell on the rocks by the lakefront while doing the backflip for a family member, according to a source.
