    One person was killed in a fire in Crystal Lake this morning involving “suspicious circumstances,” police said.

    One person was killed in a fire in Crystal Lake this morning involving “suspicious circumstances,” police said.

    Crystal Lake Police were dispatched to a home around 7:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of Moorland Lane where they discovered a man lying on the floor of a room and smoke inside the house, according to a statement for the Crystal Lake Police.

    The man was removed from the home and transported to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock, where he was pronounced dead.

    A blazing fire erupted Sunday on the roof of the Old Town Social bar and restaurant.

    The man, whose identity has not been released, was the sole occupant in the home and no others injuries were reported.

    The fire began in the basement of the home and was quickly extinguished, but Crystal Lake Police are still investigating the cause of the fire.
