    A court appearance for a 20-year-old man charged with the attempted murder of a Chicago police officer, originally scheduled for Monday morning, has been postponed.

    Paris Sadler is accused of shooting officer Del Pearson on March 19. His appearance before a judge for a preliminary hearing at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse is now scheduled for April 17.

    Paris Sadler, of the 8400 block of South Kingston Avenue, is charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with the shooting of Officer Del Pearson. Person, 47, was shot in the upper body at about 10:45 p.m. Monday while chasing a man, allegedly Sadler, in the 8400 block of South Kingston Avenue. (Published Thursday, March 22, 2012)

    Officer Pearson was hospitalized for eight days after he was shot in the chest. Last week, he posted a message online expressing his gratitude to his colleagues and the medical team for saving his life.
