Police released a composite sketch of a man they believe tried to sexually assault two women at knifepoint at their West Side Homes.

A man from Cicero has been charged with multiple armed robberies, attempted armed robberies and attempted sexual assaults in the Humboldt Park and Wicker Park neighborhoods.

Vidal Rainey, 23, was arrested and charged with one count of robbery, seven counts of armed robbery, two counts of attempted robbery, two counts of attempted aggravated criminal sexual assault, and two counts of aggravated unlawful restraint, according to a release from police News Affairs.

This arrest comes after an extensive investigation, involving multiple incidents, which occurred in both the Humboldt Park and Wicker Park areas, police said. Detectives published a Community Alert with a composite sketch of a possible offender on Monday.

Earlier this week, police released a sketch of the offender who attempted to sexually assault two women at knifepoint on July 11. The first attack happened in the 1700 block of North Humboldt Boulevard and the second happened 20 minutes later in the 1900 block of North Drake Avenue.

Rainey is expected to appear in court at 26th and California for a bond hearing Saturday.
