Police arrested and charged Rondale Jett with a series of robberies on the South and Southwest Side.
A man arrested in connection with a series of robberies will appear in bond court Saturday.
Rondale Jett, 42, was charged on Friday with five counts of armed robbery, one count of robbery and one count of aggravated attempted robbery, according to a press release from Police News Affairs.
Police arrested Jett on Thursday just minutes after he allegedly attempted to rob a 42-year-old woman at gunpoint, the release stated.
Area Central Detectives believe Jett was responsible for a string of robberies between Dec. 23, 2012 and Jan. 3, 2012, stated the release. He allegedly approached women and demanded money while armed with a handgun -- in one instance choking a woman, police said.
Victims in the cases have positively identified Jett, police said.
Jett will appear in Central Bond Court later today.
