Man Charged for Videotaping Women Using Washroom

    Salvador Perez, 49, of the 2500 block of Sonia Avenue, was charged with felony unlawful videotaping after he allegedly positioned his cellphone under the sink of a uni-sex bathroom at Elmhurst Hospital.

    A Franklin Park man was charged Saturday after he allegedly videotaped women using the washroom at Elmhurst Hospital, officials said.

    Salvador Perez, 49, of the 2500 block of Sonia Avenue, was charged with felony unlawful videotaping after he allegedly positioned his cellphone under the sink of a uni-sex bathroom at the hospital Friday and activated the record function, according to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin.

    A woman reported the cellphone after it fell from under the sink and authorities were alerted, resulting in the charges against Perez.

    "The allegations against Mr. Perez  are very disturbing," Berlin said. "Invading another person's privacy in such a manner will not be tolerated and will be met with the full force of the law.”

    Bond was set Saturday at $150,000. Perez is scheduled to appear in court again in June.
