Man Charged in Sprint Store Robbery, Second Suspect Sought

A northwest suburban Chicago man was charged Friday in connection with the armed robbery of a Sprint store earlier this week and police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to a second suspect, police said.

Police responded to the Mount Prospect Sprint wireless store just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of East Rand Road for reports of an armed robbery.

Two men entered the store, one pointing a handgun at the customers and an employee, and ordered them into a room in the back of the store, police said.

The two men instructed an employee to put cell phones and tablets into two bags and fled the scene out the rear door of the store.

No one was reported injured in the incident, according to authorities.

Marvin Jones Jr., 25, was charged Friday with one count of armed robbery. A second suspect, who is described as a black male, approximately 21 years old, wearing baggy clothing, has not been identified, police said.

Mount Prospect police said an investigation is ongoing and ask that anyone with information surrounding the incident call (847) 870-5654. Tips that lead to the arrest and prosecution of the offenders could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
