Man Charged With Masturbating in Front of Suburban Girls

Someone who witnessed the incident videotaped it before telling police, police said

A man was arrested and charged after Harvey residents caught him masturbating in front of two girls in the south suburb, police said.

Sometime on July 14, neighbors who live in the 15000 block of South Loomis Avenue in Harvey claim they saw Guas Sweiss park his SUV in a nearby alley, walk toward some bushes and begin to masturbate while looking at two girls, police said. One of the girls noticed Sweiss—whose age was not immediately known—and she and the other girl ran into a home, police said. Sweiss allegedly got back in his SUV and drove off.

Someone who witnessed the incident videotaped it before telling police, police said. Officers got the SUV’s license plate number from the video and used it to find Sweiss’ Orland Park home in the southwest suburbs on July 17, police said. He wasn’t home at the time but agreed through his lawyer to turn himself in to Harvey police by noon the next day, police said. When he didn’t show up, police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Chicago police arrested Sweiss Saturday and turned him into Harvey police. Details around his arrest were not provided.

Sweiss, of the 11000 block of West 167th Place in Orland Park, is charged with felony public indecency. Police said he has been convicted multiple times of lewd exposure and weapons charges, which is why a felony charged is justified.

Police are also working with other suburban police departments where similar acts were commited by a man whose descripton may be similar Sweiss.
