A man went to the hospital early Sunday after he was beaten and robbed inside a downtown night club, according to police.
Early Saturday, police responded Ontourage Night Club, at 157 W. Ontario St., where a man was allegedly beaten and robbed. The victim had been drinking, but thought the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said.
The man was in a bathroom when he was approached by a group of man who beat him up and took his property, including a cell phone, wallet and jewelry, Perez said.
The robbery appeared to be a random act, according to police.
A manager of the club disputes the police report, saying the victim was actually found in a nearby parking lot.
Ontourage was also involved with a shooting on Dec. 29, 2008, though that incident occured outside the club following a scuffle, according to police. One man was shot in the knee, and survived.
An Ontourage manager claims that the 2008 incident actually occured at a nearby club, and that his staff was only involved in assisting the victim.
