Will County Jail
Santos Loza, 30, was arrested this week for the 2008 murder of his ex-girlfriend's 8-month-old son. Loza allegedly hit the child multiple times in the head with blunt force while he babysat.
A Plainfield man was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with the 2008 murder of his ex-girlfriend's 8-month-old son.
Santos Loza Jr., 30, is scheduled to appear in Will County court this morning.
Sitko returned at 11 p.m. to spend the night, according to police, and found 8-month-old Kevion unconscious in the morning, just before 5 a.m. The boy was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from "multiple blunt-force head trauma."
While the investigation focused on Loza as a suspect from the beginning, sources suggest that intricate and detailed forensic work caused the 2-year delay in Loza's arrest.
Loza is being held in the Will County Adult Detention Facility on a $3 million bond.
