A man accused of mowing down 41 mailboxes with his sister's car this week faces 41 misdemeanor counts of knowingly damaging property.
Buffalo Grove police arrested Jordan Weiman, 20, Wednesday after using the car's license plate to track him down. A resident found the plate - still attached to part of the car's bumper - near his damaged mailbox on Westchester Road. Police say Weiman told authorities that he hit the first few boxes by accident but drove into the others out of frustration.
A resident first alerted police when he reported hearing a loud crash in front of his house at 2:30 a.m Tuesday. Police then discovered a string of 38 other damaged mailboxes and the discarded plate.
Weiman was allegedly driving a 2010 Mercury Milan.
