Maggie Daley Spends Week in Hospital

The former Chicago first lady was scheduled to be released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Sunday

Chicago's former first lady spent last week in the hospital.

Maggie Daley, 67, was released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Sunday, Dr. Steven Rosen said.

Daley's condition is not known, and Rosen said she prefers to keep things private.

Daley was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2002. She was hospitalized in April for pain in her right leg, the same leg into which a metal rod was inserted last year to strengthen a bone that had weakened from the cancer.

She returned to the hospital in May for flu-like symptoms.

"I know there are legions of others who are going through the same thing," Daley said in the news release in May. "I am very grateful for all the prayers and good wishes I’ve received."
