In keeping up with pop culture, MTV moved on from the DJ to the VJ, or from disc jockey to "video jockey." Now, they're hopping onto the social media wave with their first-ever "Twitter Jockey."

Gabi Gregg, 23, earned the title of MTV TJ after she won a nationwide vote on Sunday.

Raised in Detroit, the young blogger currently lives in Chicago, and it will be her job to report pop culture news on Twitter, Facebook, and MTV's website, according to the station.

Gregg is no stranger to mass audiences on the Internet. In her own words, she is "Young, Fat, and Fabulous," the title of her popular blog, which has been attracting more and more readers worldwide. The site focuses on fashion for plus-size women.

"I get e-mails pretty much on a daily basis from women all over the world," Gregg told the Sun-Times. "...[W]hen I first started blogging, I didn't really realize the impact it would have. So to hear from these women that my blog literally changed their lives is really humbling and amazing. It's still kind of surreal to me."

Gregg had better get her virtual cubicle ready. According to the MTV TJ website, her job starts today.
