Despite plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures Saturday, the Chicago area is expected to see some snow during the overnight hours ahead of chilling temperatures.
With temps reaching near 40 degrees Saturday, St. Patrick’s Day revelers celebrated in full force, whether it was watching the Chicago River be dyed green or cheering on the annual parade.
But as the day continues, temps are expected to dip back into the teens, with the potential for light snow to fall.
The snow is expected to begin falling late Saturday afternoon, with close to an inch of snowfall expected overnight.
After the snow, cold moves in. Sunday’s high will register in the mid-20s, marking a drastic change in temperatures for South Side Irish celebrators.
The make matters worse, the National Weather Service classifies Sunday as “blustery,” meaning wind speed up to 25 miles per hour.
