The 19th annual Magnificent Mile Lights Festival kicked off Saturday morning along Michigan Avenue.
Holiday revelers enjoyed live music beginning at 11 a.m.
But the real party started at 5 p.m., when
Mickey Mouse and company made their way down the famous thoroughfare and officially kicked off the holiday season.
The event lasted until 6:55 p.m., when organizers set off fireworks along the river. Area shops got into the action, of course, with extended shopping until 10 p.m.
