Chicago Cubs rookie Kris Bryant set all sorts of team records as he slugged home runs and captured the hearts of fans, and on Monday morning he earned yet another accolade as he was awarded the 2015 National League Rookie of the Year award.

Bryant cruised to victory with 127 points in the voting, conducted by the Sporting News. He beat out Matt Duffy of the San Francisco Giants, Jung Ho Kang of the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Joc Pederson of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bryant hit 26 home runs in his first season in the big leagues, and he also drove in 99 RBI, both of which are Cubs team records for rookies. Bryant had a .275 batting average and also stole 13 bases as he helped the Cubs to their first playoff appearance since the 2008 season.

With his win, Bryant becomes the first Cubs rookie to capture the award since Geovany Soto won it in 2008.

Bryant wasn’t the only Cub player to receive votes, as Kyle Schwarber finished in fifth place in the voting.
