Kris Bryant Boasts Top-Selling Jersey in MLB

The Chicago Cubs have become a massive success on the field this season, and off the field they’re also excelling as one of their players owns the top-selling jersey in Major League Baseball.

That player is rookie first baseman Kris Bryant, who was named the top-selling jersey of the year by MLB on Monday morning. Bryant is a virtual lock to win NL Rookie of the Year honors, slugging 26 home runs and driving in 99 RBI in his first season with the Cubs.

Bryant wasn’t the only Cubs player to make the list of the top 10 jerseys, either. First baseman Anthony Rizzo also made the list, finishing in the eighth spot. Overall, Cubs’ merchandise sales rose by a whopping 80 percent during the 2015 season, only outpaced by the 95 percent growth in New York Mets sales.

Madison Bumgarner, Buster Posey, Clayton Kershaw, and Mike Trout round out the top five in jersey sales for the year, with Trout serving as the only player in the top 10 to play for an American League team.
