Sick Bon Jovi Fan Gets Gift From Rocker

Woman couldn't use concert ticket after undergoing recent heart transplant

A Chicago heart transplant patient learned first-hand about the kind heart of her favorite rock star -- Jon Bon Jovi.

Heather Royhl had a ticket to last Friday's Bon Jovi concert at Soldier Field, but couldn't go because she's still recuperating at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

When Bon Jovi heard about Royhl's plight, he sent her special package that included an autographed 6-foot poster that he signed, "Heather, sorry we missed you, see you next time!"

Royhl, 41, nearly died three times while overcoming a variety of ailments and complications since February. She finally underwent a successful heart transplant on July 5.

And now she's doing better and making plans to see her favorite rocker in concert next year.

"To even be here is just crazy, and for Jon to send me a poster and think of me, it's crazy, it's quite overwhelming, but it's awesome," Royhl said when she received the poster Wednesday morning.
