Local gal made (very) good Jennifer Hudson just gave birth, and it's a boy.
The 27-year-old Hudson, who first became popular during 2004's "American Idol" and then won an Oscar for her performance in "Dreamgirls", gave birth to her first child, son David Daniel Otunga Jr., on Monday, according to E! Online.
The 7 pounds, 14 ounce David Jr. is named after Hudson's fiance, David Otunga, a former Chicago lawyer and reality TV star who recently had his star turn on VH1's "I Love New York 2". Otunga Sr.'s also an aspiring WWE pro.
The couple did not know the baby's gender in advance, said The Hollywood Reporter.
