An Illinois man is accused of throwing a tomahawk at a sheriff’s deputy while the deputy was attempting to arrest the man on charges of sexual assault to a child, NBC affiliate WANDTV is reporting.

Kevin Funk, 29, of Milford, is charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery to a peace officer in addition to predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, WANDTV reports.
