Illinois Congressman Walked Out During Obama Speech

Rep. John Shimkus represents Illinois' 19th district

Rep. John Shimkus walked out of Obama's health care speech.

John Shimkus didn't call Obama a liar like Joe Wilson. He just walked out.

During the president's speech to Congress last night on health care, Republican Representative John Shimkus got so fed up that he left the speech entirely.

According to a spokesperson, Shimkus, who represents Illinois' 19th district, was frustrated that the president wasn't offering any new information.

Shimkus' spokesperson told the Trib: "Regardless of the words the president used, the tone did not bring Republicans on board."
