$3M Bail For Man Charged in 1957 Cold Case

Jack Daniel McCullough is accused of kidnapping and murdering a 7-year-old girl in 1957

A 71-year-old Washington state man is being held in a Seattle jail on $3 million bail in connection with an Illinois cold case that's more than five decades old.

Prosecutors say Jack Daniel McCullough kidnapped and killed 7-year-old Maria Ridulph in 1957 while she played with a friend near her home in Sycamore.

It took four months for investigators to find the girl's remains.

The FBI says the case went cold after McCullough joined the military and changed his name.

He is awaiting extradition to Illinois. His next court hearing is Wednesday.
