Two young girls taken from their mother at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon have been located and are safe, police say.

Three-month-old Dyniste T. Finley and her 23-month old sister Destiney Finley were abducted by their father at about 1:30 p.m., from a home in the 2900 block of Gilead Street, in Zion, Illinois State Police said.

Police continue to look for the girls' 18-year-old father,  Dejavonte Finley.

Waukegan police Wednesday afternoon pulled over 19-year-old Asia Morris, who was driving the burgundy Chevy Impala sought by police.  She was alone in the car, claiming she'd dropped the father and the girls off.

Police said additional information will be released.
