IKEA Food Truck to Make Chicago Appearance, Dish Out Free Meatballs

As part of the #TogetherWeEat campaign, IKEA will introduce its first food truck in Chicago

Typically when you think of IKEA, the first thing that comes to mind is furniture. But in Chicago, it could soon be meatballs. And even better, they're free.

The Swedish furniture company will introduce a food truck on the streets of Chicago at Wicker Park Fest, on July 23 and 24, according to the Chicago Tribune. As part of the promotion, the truck will hand out free samples of meatballs to festival goers, with the option of veggie and chicken samples as well. Wicker Park Fest runs from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. both days.

IKEA's food truck is part of the company's #TogetherWeEat campaign, which began last fall to promote bringing both food and family together to “make mealtime the best time," according to the company's website.

The food truck will also make a few surprise stops along the way in Chicago before continuing to New York at the Brooklyn’s Celebrate Brooklyn Festival.
