Ice on Ice: Couple Engaged at Local Rink

On Wednesday, Amber Diamond received a diamond.

The 25-year-old and her boyfriend, Phillip Pogorzelski, were celebrating their first anniversary by reenacting their first date by ice skating at Millennium Park.

The two spent the day holding hands, skating in circles around the rink -- that is, until a dog with a big red bow came running out on the ice.

Mia, the couple's dog,  was carrying the diamond ring.

Phillip then got down on one knee and, after fumbling the ring and dropping it on to the ice, he managed to propose to Amber. His proposal included a quote from the popular animated movie Up.

"At the end I said will you start your adventure with me, because the whole movie is about adventures and will you marry me and luckily she said yes."

Amber said she was getting an idea something was up by all the text messages Phillip was getting, but
says "I'm very surprised".

The two, who met at the Logan Square train station and live together in Roscoe Village, don't have a wedding date quite yet,  but are considering a reception in the family's backyard.
