A two-car accident on westbound I-290 near Irving Park Road left one person dead early this morning.
At 3:45 a.m., one car apparently lost control, veering off the road and hitting a tree near the highway.
An investigation is ongoing, and rescuers have towed away the vehicle. Two right lanes were blocked, and traffic was snarled heading west.
