Hundreds Dance for Chicago Dance Marathon

Hundreds of people hit the dance floor Saturday at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel to mark the start of the Chicago Dance Marathon.

The toe-tapping fundraiser is intended to raise money for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Dancers raised money in teams and individually and stayed on their feet for 13.1 hours to show support for the hundreds of children being treated at the hospital.

More than 30 patients and their families attended the event and Chicago Blackhawks’ mascot Tommy Hawk also came to shake a tail in support.
