How to Track Runners at the Chicago Marathon

Watching the Bank of America Chicago Marathon from the sidelines can be a sport in itself as spectators race their friends and family in the marathon to meet them at the next checkpoint.

Fortunately, race organizers have made it easy to track runners. There is a link to live race day results on the mobile-friendly Chicago Marathon website that allows spectators to view the race leaderboard and to follow friends and family by getting real-time updates and splits every 5 kilometers.

Spectators can also track up to three runners through text tracking. Anyone who signs up for the texts will receive a message when their runners cross the 10K, half marathon, 30K and finish line. Spectators can also track runners through Facebook and Twitter.
