High School Scavenger Hunt Turns Tragic

A 17-year-old student jumped out of a moving vehicle on Friday as part of a scavenger hunt.

Getting kicked in the groin. Pelting the elderly with muffins. Jumping from a moving car. All were stunts associated with an underground St. Charles North High School scavenger hunt, documented on film with a cash prize at the end.

But the teen tradition went horribly wrong Friday when a 17-year-old apparently leapt from an SUV in order to garner "points" for his team. Eric Nava remains hospitalized in serious condition.
