Woman Shot in Suburban Dolton, Trustee Says

A woman was in “very critical” condition Wednesday night after she was shot in suburban Dolton, according to community activist and Dolton Trustee Andrew Holmes.

The woman was driving near the intersection of Sibley Boulevard and Chicago Road on Wednesday evening when she was caught in crossfire, Holmes said. The woman was struck in the head, according to Holmes, and her car careened forward for several blocks before coming to rest across the street from Thornridge High School.

The shooting is the second in three days along Sibley Boulevard. The street remained closed Wednesday night as an investigation continued.

No other information was immediately known.
