    The statue of the late Chicago mayor was damaged and the front panel was stolen.

    Police are asking for help finding the offenders responsible for damaging and stealing a portion of a Harold Washington Statue in Bronzeville.

    The statue of the late Chicago Mayor was damaged and the front panel was stolen Saturday evening outside the Harold Washington Cultural Center at 4701 S. King Drive, according to a community alert from Area Central Detectives. The stolen panel contained a dedication plaque.
