Police in Hammond, Indiana, are searching for a man who they believe is responsible for a string of armed robberies at businesses last week.

At about 8:20 p.m. Thursday, police were called to Discount Liquors, located at 7448 Columbia, for a report of a robbery and shooting. The suspect, described as a black man wearing a gray or red sweatshirt and black pants, had entered the store carrying a handgun and demanded money, police said. In both incidents, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money from patrons and a clerk before fleeing, police said. No one was injured during these robberies.
