Police continued to search Sunday for a masked gunman who killed a Chicago man at his birthday party in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood.

Just before 2 a.m., the gunman approached the victim's second-floor apartment in the 2100 block of North LeClaire Avenue.  A party was going on there to celebrate Harry Rodriguez's 24th birthday.

From a rear door of the apartment, the gunman opened fire, shooting Rodriguez and another man in the chest.

Paramedics took both to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where Rodriguez died.

The other victim, a 21-year-old man, was in critical condition Sunday morning.

Police were unsure of a motive for the shooting. They continue to investigate.
