A child shopping with her mother was sexually assaulted  at a Chicago area Target store Thursday evening.

The mother and child were approached by the offender in the food court of the Target located at 2112 West Peterson Ave.  The offender approached the victim and inappropriately touched her genital area over her clothing.

The victim immediately told her mother and the offender fled.

He is described as a male, Asian/Pacific Islander, 5'07, 60-70 years old.  He was last seen wearing a dark blue "Cubs" hat, dark blue t-shirt with a crocodile design on it, possibly gray pants and gym shoes.

Police issued an alert warning the neighborhood to be aware of your surroundings and call 911 if you see someone matching this description.
