Girl, 2, Among 14 Shot in Chicago Since Thursday Evening

A man was killed and at least 13 others, including a 2-year-old girl, were injured in shootings across Chicago since Thursday evening, police said.

Police said the 2-year-old girl was wounded around 10:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Honore Street in the city's Englewood neighborhood when shots were fired, striking a group of people on a sidewalk.

The 2-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to the chest and leg and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition.

A 25-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was taken in serious condition to Holy Cross Hospital. He was expected to be transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital for further treatment. A 31-year-old man was shot in the leg and was also taken to Holy Cross Hospital for treatment.

Police also said two 22-year-old women were shot, one in the buttocks and thigh and the other in both legs, and were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

Further details surrounding the shooting weren’t immediately available.

About an hour earlier, three people were shot in the 2100 block of East 67th Street.

The three were standing on the street around 9:30 p.m. when a man fired shots from a nearby alley, police said. 

A 28-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and taken to Stroger Hospital and a 30-year-old man was shot in the arm and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital along with a 31-year-old man who was shot in the thigh.

Less than 20 minutes earlier, a man was shot while riding in a vehicle in the 5800 block of South Wentworth Avenue. 

The 23-year-old man was a passenger in a car going northbound on Wentworth when someone in a dark-colored sedan opened fire on the vehicle, striking him in the upper back. The man was taken to Saint Bernard's Hospital in stable condition. 

Around 5:30 p.m. two teens were shot in the 800 block of East 65th Street. The teens were standing on a sidewalk when a man walked up and opened fire, according to authorities. Police said a 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg and taken to University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital in stable condition and a 16-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to the arm and was taken to University of Chicago Hospital in stable condition. 

Just before 4 p.m. two people were shot in the 7400 block of South Colfax Avenue. A 31-year-old man was shot in the leg and waist and a 25-year-old man was shot in the waist and ankle, police said. Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition. 

Police said the two men were standing on the street when a vehicle drove up and someone fired shots from inside. 

Early Friday, a man was killed in the Uptown neighborhood on the city's North Side. The 20-year-old man was shot twice in the back around 1:30 a.m. in the 4800 block of North Kenmore. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
