Michigan Infant Named as Gerber's 2016 Spokesbaby

A Michigan infant has been named as Gerber’s newest spokesbaby!

Isla, a seven-month-old from Troy, is the winner of the company’s 6th annual Gerber Baby Photo Search.

"Isla is always happy," her mom, Rachael, told TODAY.com. "She's always smiling and giggling and on the move. Her favorite thing to do is dance to music and play with her big sister, Nora."

She was chosen over more than 170,000 entries in the contest, according to the site. Isla clearly had something that made contest organizers go goo-goo ga-ga.

Bernadette Tortorella, who is in charge of marketing for Gerber, said the company loves receiving entries in the annual contest.

"While we received so many incredible entries, the judges all fell in love with Isla's cheeky smile and awesome hair," said Tortorella in a press release, according to TODAY.

The first baby chosen to represent the company was Ann Turner Cook, who won a 1928 nationwide contest, according to Gerber’s site. Her sketched portrait will still appear on Gerber products and advertising.
