Dennis Muren, a special effects artist who worked on Star Wars films with Lucas, arrives at the reception in Promontory Point in Hyde Park.
Hyde Park residents were sure to see a series of celeb sightings Saturday as famous Star Wars creator George Lucas and Chicago businesswoman Mellody Hobson celebrated their marriage in the Chicago Park District’s Promontory Point.
The extravagant wedding reception was hard to avoid in the normally quiet park as dozens of TV cameras and paparazzi flocked to the gates waiting for the celebrity guests to arrive.
A swarm of area residents and people hoping to see their favorite Star Wars actors and actresses also flocked to the park as Lucas, Hobson and a trolley of celebrity accomplices trailed into the tented reception.
Among the array of A-list celebs attending the reception was iconic musician Prince, who performed along with a 20-piece orchestra at the event.
But Prince didn’t stop at the wedding reception. After his performance the musician also graced the City Winery on Randolph Street with a late-night set.
