Spend an evening helping to raise money for juvenile diabetes research at the 32nd Annual Chance of a Lifetime Gala.

The Gala is put on each year by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and will be held at McCormick Place Lakeside Ballroom and Arie Crown Theater Dec. 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The event will include dinner and a silent and live auction. The auctions will feature an assortment of items, including a sing-along with Grammy-award winning artists The Doobie Brothers, a ceremonial first pitch at Wrigley Field, a week in Costa Rica and more.

The Doobie Brothers will perform at the Gala as the night's headlining entertainment act.

The JDRF puts on this fund-raising event to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. This year, the Gala aims to raise $3.2 million toward research and finding a cure.

Tickets for the event are $375 and include a reserved seat for dinner and the show, complimentary drink tickets, participation in the auctions and the chance to be involved in the Fund A Cure program.

The Fund A Cure program allows guests and supporters to give directly to a specific area of research of their choosing.

Gala registration is now open and tickets can be purchased at http://www.jdrfillinois.org/gala/index.html.
