Freezing Rain Advisory for Chicago

Weather service advises caution for drivers

A freezing rain advisory for all of Cook County remains in effect until 6 a.m.

The light, freezing rain began earlier Wednesday afternoon and will continue throughout the night.

“Travel on untreated surfaces will become hazardous by this evening and will persist through the night,” the advisory warns. “Be alert for icy surfaces when driving or walking."

Temps won’t rise above the freezing mark.

While the freezing rain will be a minor inconvenience for drivers, it won’t be anything like the Snowmageddon that descended on Chicago two weeks ago.
