    Frank Thomas unveiled his new Berwyn restaurant and a bronze statue of himself on Thursday.

    Frank Thomas is getting into the restaurant business.

    A ceremonial groundbreaking took place Thursday for Big Hurt Brewhouse, the Hall of Famer's new restaurant in Berwyn.

    In announcing his official retirement from baseball Friday, Thomas says he hopes Cooperstown awaits him.

    The restaurant is located at 6801 W. Cermak Rd. in a historic bank building. It will be open to the public this fall.

    The eatery and sports bar will feature Thomas' Big Hurt Beer, a menu featuring items prepared on a wood-fired grill and of course, plenty of big-screen televisions.

    Thomas joked even Cubs fans will be welcome at the restaurant.
