A former Wheaton College professor was sentenced Tuesday for possession of child pornography.
Donald Ratcliff, 62, received 42 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to the Class 2 felony last year.
Police said they discovered 500-1,000 pornographic images and videos on multiple computers in his home, and also found that he had been trading child pornography online.
The private Christian school fired Ratcliff shortly after he was arrested in 2012. He had been a faculty member at the college since 2006 and taught Christian education.
Ratcliff will be required to serve 50 percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
