Ex-Jared Foundation Head Admits Child Sex Counts: Prosecutor

Federal prosecutors say the ex-director of a foundation created by former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle has agreed to plead guilty to 12 counts of child exploitation and one count of distributing and receiving child pornography.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that according to the plea agreement, 44-year-old Russell Taylor cannot ask for a sentence of less than 15 years in prison and prosecutors can ask for a sentence of up to 35 years, followed by supervised release for the remainder of his life. The judge isn't bound by the terms.

Prosecutors say the child pornography count stems from a conspiracy with Fogle, who also faces child sex and pornography charges.

Taylor, of Indianapolis, led the Jared Foundation, which raises awareness and money to fight childhood obesity. Taylor is in federal custody.
