Flames Consume Former Ex-Bull Dwyane Wade's Home in Massive Fire Near Dolton

A house was engulfed in flames Monday afternoon near south suburban Dolton.

A person of interest is in custody, the fire chief said, after a citizen contacted authorities saying they saw a person, potentially involved in the fire, shortly after the explosion broke out.

According to officials, that person will be questioned this evening.

The home in the 1600 block of East 158th Street in South Holland was seen consumed by a massive fire with plumes of black smoke shooting into the sky.

Video from NBC’s Sky 5 chopper shows the scene of a massive fire near south suburban Dolton.

Further details, including if there were any injuries, were not immediately available.

Residents say the home is one previously owned by ex-Bull Dwyane Wade.

A home owned by Wade and his ex-wife in the 1600 block of East 158th Street  was foreclosed on in 2014 following the couple's divorce.

That 7,847-square-foot home had six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a theater and exercise room, a guest house, in-ground pool and of course, a basketball court.

Neighbors said they heard an explosion in the area, which was followed by thick, black smoke.
