Firefighters Battle Extra-Alarm Blaze at West Side Church

It was not immediately clear what sparked the fire

An extra-alarm blaze was sparked at a West Side church Saturday morning.

The fire was reported just after 11 a.m. at the Unity Church of God in Christ, located at 4901 W. Ferdinand St. in the city's Austin neighborhood, according to Chicago Fire Department media.

There was a partial collapse to the building but officials said no injuries had been reported as of 11:40 a.m.

The flames were put out just before 12:30 p.m. but firefighters remained at the scene "chasing hot spots."

It was not immediately clear what sparked the fire.
