Fire Displaces Adults, 4 Children

Firefighters extinguished the fire in 30 minutes

A dozen people, including four children, watched their home go up in flames on the far South Side Monday night.

Flames spread from the first floor in the two-story townhouse in the 800 block of West 122nd Street around 10:20 p.m., Fire Media Affairs spokesperson Joe Roccasalva said.

Firefighters extinguished the fire 30 minutes later.

Eight adults and four children escaped without any injuries, Roccasalva said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
