Fire Destroys Romeoville Business

Blaze breaks out in industrial park

A fire in a Romeoville industrial park is under control Monday evening.

The fire broke out at Sebert Landscaping (667 Parkwook St) at about 5:30 p.m., and took responders 90 minutes to control.

A female employee was inside the building where the fire started and was transported to Bolingbrook Hospital as a precautionary measure.

Seventy-five firefighters responded to the blaze.

Investigators aren't sure what sparked the fire, only that it started in the rear of the building where equipment is stored.

Branch manager Andrew Brennecke said was at the scene and said he had no idea how the fire started.

"It's definitely emotional when you show up and the place you come every day is gone. But we're a strong company, we'll rebuild and pull through," Brennecke said.
