Fire Crews Rescue Man from Lake Michigan

The man was 60-70 feet from the shore, officials said.

The Chicago Fire Department rescued a man from Lake Michigan late Thursday afternoon on the city’s South Side.

Crews were called to scene around 4 p.m. at 75th Street for reports of a man who was 60-70 feet out from the shore, officials said.

The adult man was taken to University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition, according to authorities.

No first responders were injured in the incident, officials said.
