Fire Burns 2 Englewood Homes

5 displaced by early morning fire

An early morning fire in the city’s Englewood neighborhood displaced five people.

No word yet what caused the fire in the one-and-a-half-story home on the 6400 block of South Loomis Boulevard. It also spread to a two-story home next door.

Firefighters arrived on the scene around 1:15 Monday morning and took about an hour to put out both fires. No one was injured.

The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago was on hand to help residents affected by the fire.
