Final Say for Man Fired for Packers Tie

The car salesman who was fired Monday for wearing a Packers tie to his job has been rehired--with the competition.

John Stone received at least three job offers since news surfaced about the South Side Packers fan getting booted from Webb Chevrolet in Oak Lawnh by his Bears-fan boss. Even the Oak Lawn car dealership offered to rehire him.

But Stone got the final say, taking a job selling Chevys for a rival dealer, the Sun-Times reports. The deal received multiple calls from Packers fans saying they'd buy cars from Stone if he's hired.

Stone said people have called him all the way from San Diego, offering to buy a car from him.

No matter what, one thing's certain.

"My tie is not going to affect me selling a car," he said. Stone sold 14 cars in the little more than a month that he'd worked at Webb Chevrolet.
